In fact, it is one of the MB owner's manual's checks. The higher the revs, the greater the power. The OM617 is the way to go for a daily driver in a Jeep or small pickup - it was designed for luxury daily drivers. They are very simple, quiet, decent fuel consumption and do not require re-gearing. Rated torque is reached at 2400 rpm, rated horsepower at 4300.The OM617.951 was introduced in 1979 and displaced 2998 cc, using a 90.9 mm bore and 92.4 mm stroke. Power output was 125 hp (91 kW).
